Los Altos CERT Volunteers
We are the help until help arrives

Our Mission and Role
Mission
The Los Altos CERT is an all-volunteer group of residents trained and practiced to help our neighbors and our community in a disaster.
CERT members team with Block Action Team (BAT) leaders and Los Altos Amateur Radio Emergency Service (LAARES) hams to survey neighborhoods for injuries, damage, and hazards following established and practiced methods.
These teams communicate their findings to the City of Los Altos Emergency Operations Center (EOC) to provide situational awareness and help city leaders make the most informed decisions in assigning scarce professional response resources.
